Airwolf was originally aired on CBS with a pilot feature length episode in 1984, Created by Donald P Bellisario and starring Jan-Michael Vincent as Stringfellow Hawke and Ernest Borgnine as Dominic Santini.
As the Ex-Test pilot for the militaries new advanced supersonic helicopter, Stringfellow Hawke is approached by Archangel – the leader of "the F.I.R.M." that built Airwolf to steal it back from its creator after being taken to libya.
In return for finding Stringfellows brother who was MIA since the vietnam war, Stringfellow and his fellow Santini successfully capture Airwolf but instead hide away in "the lair" until SIn Jin is found.
In the meantime they agree to a deal to help the agency using Airwolf to fly critical missions of national importance to the F.I.R.M.
And the rest as they say, is history, followed by 55 episodes and a series with an entirely different cast and crew Airwolf came to a close in 1987 leaving many a child's imagination changed forever......
