Running from 1982 - 1986 David Hasselhoff starred as Michael Knight in the hit TV series Knight Rider. Knight a former police detective was left to die in a botched operation and found by F.L.A.G, after given his new identity and life back he is teamed up with K.I.T.T.
Knight Industries Two Thousand was based on a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, kitted out with futuristic computer and communications systems, alongside its own A.I processor K.I.T.T was a match for any criminal activity. Today K.I.T.T is a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR, this gets a mixed response from most fanzines.
Devon Miles the spokesman for F.L.A.G and K.I.T.Ts chief mechanic Bonnie Barstow also featured on most shows, they were responsible for Knights missions and in their mobile workshop juggernaut kept K.I.T.T tip top for next hair raising episode.
As with some other popular shows from the eighties Knight Rider has also seen a few revivals along the way, in 1991 a sequel movie Knight Rider 2000 was aired along with a few other spin offs coming shortly afterwards. With a 2008 series currently underway in the states it's still going today, although "The Hoff" is not the star these days he did make a cameo appearance as the stars father, Michael Knight.
